Information on Activities of the DID Vietnam Project Office. (06/05/2010)
On April 2, 2010, in Hanoi, a Signing ceremony of Interconnectivity Transactions and Switch solutions contract under the “Rural-Urban Interconnectivity to Help Fight Poverty” project was held between Central People’s Credit Fund and Electracard ECS-OPUS of India and Ocean Technology. To witness this signing ceremony, there were Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, Deputy Governor and officials of the State Bank of Vietnam.

Information on Activities of the DID Vietnam Project Office. (02/02/2010)
As we already mentioned in the VAPCF Bulletin in January 2010, the Interconnectivity Project Implementation Team in collaboration with DID are urgently implementing a number of work items of this Project. DID highly appreciates the efforts of the PIU and the local consultants in the preparation of complete documentation regarding requirement on FT solution, card solution and equipment infrastructure in order to organize selection of appropriate companies. Recently, all the documents were submitted to the DID for review and comments.

As we already provided information in the previous bulletin in December 2010, as the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam agreed to continue implementing the Interconnectivity project, The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Central People’s Credit Fund (CCF) and DID have made lots of efforts to complete some work components as mentioned in the Cooperation Agreement between CCF and DID, such as training on information technology, office equipment for the PIU, and some consultancy work.

On December 3rd, 2009, a meeting in the framework of the “Rural-Urban Interconnectivity to Help Fight Poverty” project was held at SBV Deputy Governor – Mr. Tran Minh Tuan’s office. The purpose of the meeting was to enable DID and CCF to report on project implementation progress to the Deputy Governor Tran Minh Tuan and to seek for his instruction opinion to further implement the project.

Mr Jean Marc Crevier, The DID Program director completed his visit to Vietnam from September 1st to 10th, 2009. During his visit, he had the opportunity to meet the leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam - Banking Inspectorate and Supervision Agency,  that is the representative of the SBV to receive the Interconnectivity Project and also the Project Implementing Agency.
