April - Rural, Urban Interconnectivity to Help Fight Poverty Project (20/04/2011) (3200)

Mr. Jean-Marc Crevier, The DID Program Director completed his visit to Vietnam from March 27 – April 1, 2011. During this visit, on behalf of the Proxfin Network, he awarded an Outstanding Partner Certification for 2010 and a souvenir to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy General Director of CCF.

“Support for Vietnam Association of People’s Credit Funds” Project (14/04/2011) (2073)

Within the frame work of the project, under the support of DID, VAPCF is working on the selection of the tutors in the South for the distance training program and the recruiting of the potential learnersf or this program will begin soon. It is expected that right after the training of the tutors in the North is completed,the VAPCF will organize the first pilot training session for learners in the North in early2011.

Recognition of international Non-Government organization’s (INGOs) contributions in VietNam (14/04/2011) (1867)

On November 14^th, 2010, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held a ceremony in recognition of INGOs’ contributions to Vietnam for 2010. This event took place on the occasion of the 60^thYear Anniversary of the VUFO (November 17, 1950- November 17, 2010).

Regarding the fund transfer transactions of the 8 pilot PCFs, by the end of November 2010, they created a total of 1,086 successful transactions, amounted to appr. VND 109 billion (equiv. to nearly USD 5.59 million), they also received 92 successful transactions, amounted to VND 7.1 billion (equiv. to USD 365,329). The highest transaction amounted to 3.8 billion and the smallest transaction amounted to about VND 27 thousand.

On August 25^th, the fund transfer (FT) system of the CCF has been officially launched to replace the former internal electronic transmittance system. The 8 pilot PCFs have been successfully connected with the new system and officially launched the first transaction.
